These
poems make me more aware of the lack of freedom in my own life -
they inspire me to be the difference and to live my life
inside the dream.

A
Declaration of American Freedom and Possibility ...
The
sound of the Liberty Bell can be heard today ringing through the
poetry of Kenny Rose Butts. Butts delivers in his latest collection,
AmBush of America, the most powerfully uplifting declaration of
American freedom and American possibility this country has seen
in a long time. Here America is a poetic voice for the people, a
poet calling us to stand against the disgusting tyrants that have
manipulated their way into our coffers and social consciousness.
This is poetry of revolution, poetry used to infuse and educate
the American people in democracy, justice and self-empowerment.
The
strength of AmBush of America lies in its realism. The poems untangle
the propaganda of corporate media and government press releases
then convincingly charge the reader as having a hand not only in
the growing chaos. If we have a hand in the pollution currently
choking American and the world, then we also have a mind and heart
to reverse the current of our current events and it is here that
Butts' poetry becomes breathtaking and even thrilling. Butts is
a patriot of the highest degree, ringing out with his pen the call
to rise against the cor-pirate criminals and political goons by
awakening, together, to
the
harmonious presence of our own deepest truths: that we hold these
truths to be self evident,
that
all people are free, that we all, every one of us, want peace in
our streets, and in the streets of the world, that the answers to
America's problems rest in the heart and mind of you and you and
you and everyone you know and everyone across this country. Butt's
voice is a voice of peace but know now that this is not a naive
simpleton prattling with pretty words and lofty ideas. You won't
read a more logical word from any other American poet, nor a clearer
description of the political and economic reality this country and
the world currently faces. Butts pulls no punches, George Bush,
Jr., his cronies and their friends the cor-pirate elite are enemies
of the people and his poetry forces their hand open, and there within
the pages you and I may simply take back the power they stole from
us while we were working.
This
is invigorating poetry meant to wake us up, and wake us up it does.
These poems will engage you deeply and have the power to change
your and all of our lives.
